Celebrating the talent of third year Film Industries and Media students from The University of Portsmouth, No6 are proud to be hosting this Short Film screening evening, and will be showing Mind Reader by Andrew Jones, Reflexivity by Charlie Castillo, The Door is not Closed by Jiaxin Chen and The Priest by Alex Hicks.

“Mind Reader” directed by Andrew Jones tells the story of two detectives who use an advanced piece of technology to solve a murder by using the suspects memories against them.

“Reflexivity” directed by Charlie Castillo is about a retired film editor who embarks on a journey of self-discovery through his passion of cinema and decides to construct one final film from his old family celluloid footage in the hope of preserving something beyond himself.

“The Door is not Closed” directed by Jiaxin Chen tells the story of Emilly who starts to become paranoid with her surroundings, causing her to live in fear. She thinks her neighbour is out to hurt her, but could there be a deeper meaning to the shadows she is seeing in her life?

“The Priest” directed by Alex Hicks - Christine and John go to their friend Sam’s house to watch a football game, except when they arrive they discover that Sam’s girlfriend, Felicity, isn’t feeling great. Upon further investigation the trio realise that Felicity isn’t just unwell she is, in fact, possessed.

No.6 is taking a brief intermission - re-opening scheduled for May 9th

Loyal regulars will be aware that we have had a few technical issues with some of our screenings recently. We have been working to resolve these, and have been pleased that our most recent showings, including lengthy films like Dune: Part 2 and Apocalypse Now, have worked okay. But we feel it’s unfair on you to be crossing our fingers and hoping, we’d rather get things sorted properly.

The plan is to close for the next two weeks and hopefully return on Thursday 9th May. Keep an eye on the No.6 website and newsletter for confirmation or otherwise, and of course to find out what we will be showing when we do return. Thanks to everyone for your patience and understanding.
