Director: Claire McCarthy

Starring: Matthew Goode, Phoebe Dynevor, Rachel Shenton

In the grey industrial British midlands of the 1920s, creative young factory worker Clarice Cliff lives in the smoky terraces of working class Stoke on Trent with her widowed mother Ann and youngest sister Dot. Driven by her imagination and ambition, she makes the bold move to take a lower paying job at a prestigious pottery factory owned by eccentric Colley Shorter and his more cautious brother. Clarice takes great risks to prove herself until Colley recognises that her talent and innovation could save the factory and their workers from the devastating economic crisis of the great depression. Clarice is apprenticed to renowned designer Fred Ridgeway and fights her way through the deep prejudice of the industry to design the unprecedented ‘Bizarre’ range, ensuring the factory’s survival and her future as one of the greatest Art Deco designers and a household name.
