Monstrous Feminine Season continues with Ripley and Rosemary

Our Nov/Dec programme is just about to be delivered from the printers and within those hallowed listings you will see that we are continuing our Monstrous Feminine Season with two classic films from the horror canon.
On Friday 9th November we will be screening Alien, before the film we’ll be holding a ‘Little Quiz of Horrors’ in the bar starting at 6.30pm, the film will start a bit later at 7.30pm. This is an informal event, no need to book a table just pitch up with a pen and a sense of humour. On Thursday 6th December at 7.00pm Rosemary will be giving birth to a baby. Rosemary’s Baby spawned a trend for devil-baby, evil kiddy, satanic pregnancy films reaching far into the ’70’s -another classic best seen on the big screen, in the dark and shared with friends.

Experience the incredible story of the people and the plane that changed history, on Thursday 18th Oct at 4.15pm

‘A lady in the air but a bitch on the ground’ this is the Spitfire as described by a woman pilot in our Thursday matinee film Spitfire screening at 4.15pm. This film set out to preserve the testimony of Spitfire pilots in this the RAF’s centenary year but it also illustrates the unwillingness of Britain to be bullied by the Luftwaffe. Free tea/coffee and a biscuit available in the bar before the screening. Feel free to bring your own reusable cup, we are happy to fill it for you. Matinee prices are £8.00 full, £6.50 concs, £5.00 25’s and under.

“The best documentary of the year” on Thursday 18th Oct at 7pm

Thursday evening at 7.00pm we have Faces Places (Visages, Villages) a road trip movie with two warm and witty artists, JR and Agnes Varda. The famous French street artist JR and the doyenne of French New Wave Agnes Varda obviously amuse and adore each other, this film is so lovely, please come and see it.

She was marked with the curse of those who slink and court and kill by night! See it at No6 on Friday 19th Oct at 7pm

Cat People is the October film for our Monstrous Feminine Season. This 1942 classic is a frightening and mysterious psychological horror, with unseen threats which are always the best…..Dr Esther Sonnet will introduce the film on Friday evening.

Saturday night is the answer to your prayers, The Miseducation of Cameron Post charts the progress of the aforesaid Cameron through the creepy Christian conversion therapy centre which endeavours to correct her sexuality.
