Romance in the air?

Back to all posts RSC Live: Twelfth Night is showing at No6 on the 14th of February at 7pm

Well maybe not yet, Valentine’s is a few weeks off after all, but just to let you know that Boathouse 4 is planning to start opening its doors for some evening meals again in the near future. They will definitely be opening for Valentine’s Night so why not combine a meal and a visit to No6 to see Twelfth Night, 'Shakespeare does romantic farce’, streamed live from the RSC in Stratford. We are not offering the meal/ticket combo again, best to book your table directly with the Boathouse.

You Were Never Lovelier, showing Thursday 25th Jan at 7pm

Continuing our season of musicals, next up is You Were Never Lovelier. This 1942 film received 5* on Rotten Tomatoes, probably because the performances of Astaire and Hayworth are luminous even though the film is black and white, can’t wait to see Rita and Fred whirling across the screen on Thursday evening.

Mountain, showing Friday 26th Jan at 7pm

Bookings are as brisk as the air at high altitude for Mountain on Friday evening. Peter Bradshaw recommends seeing this film on a large screen, we can oblige...!

Stronger, showing Saturday 27th Jan at 7pm

Stronger on Saturday night is a portrait of bitterness, self loathing and courage. See Jake put in a mammoth performance, we’ll know sooner rather than later if he has received an Oscar nomination for this role.

No.6 is taking a brief intermission - re-opening scheduled for May 9th

Loyal regulars will be aware that we have had a few technical issues with some of our screenings recently. We have been working to resolve these, and have been pleased that our most recent showings, including lengthy films like Dune: Part 2 and Apocalypse Now, have worked okay. But we feel it’s unfair on you to be crossing our fingers and hoping, we’d rather get things sorted properly.

The plan is to close for the next two weeks and hopefully return on Thursday 9th May. Keep an eye on the No.6 website and newsletter for confirmation or otherwise, and of course to find out what we will be showing when we do return. Thanks to everyone for your patience and understanding.
