Back to all posts We have some festive treats in store this week, culminating in Miracle on 34th Street on Saturday evening

First things first, we would like to wish every one of our devotees, film fanciers and all round fantastic customers a very Happy Christmas and New Year: a big thank you for all your support may it be regular, occasional or spasmodic! Keep it coming…. we are dedicated to keeping independent cinema alive in Portsmouth forever and a day.

No6’s Christmas stocking is bursting this year with two matinees and two classic Christmas movies.

Friday 20th at 4.15pm Frozen 2
Friday 20th  at 7.00pm The Wizard of Oz

Saturday 21st at 4.15pm Frozen 2
Saturday 21st at 7.00pm Miracle on 34th Street

All perfect for getting in the Christmas groove, all tickets for all performances are £5.00.

Andy Osman will be live and acoustic in the bar on Saturday during the afternoon and evening, playing before Frozen 2 and before Miracle on 34th Street. Our marvellous homemade mulled wine will be available in the bar along with other bevvies and Christmassy nibbles.

The future beckons...

Loach and Laverty come together again for their latest film Sorry we Missed You on Thursday 19th at 7pm: still on the side of those who aren’t rich and comfortable.

Let go of the past...

Frozen 2 on Friday 20th at 4.15pm: Elsa and Anna ’s magical quest will cast a spell on viewers...

And our second screening of Frozen 2 is on Saturday 21st at 4.15pm… our £5.00 tickets are selling fast so don’t miss out on this tale of sisterhood, empowerment, love and acceptance. Disney have pushed the boat out on this one!

We’re off to see the wizard!

In truth any opportunity to see this film on the big screen is welcome, so here it is at No6 on a pretty big screen, The Wizard of Oz in its incredible 80th year. Saturday 21st at 7.00pm.

Capture the spirit of Christmas in this timeless classic.

Miracle on 34th Street is one of the few perfect and genuinely emotional Christmas movies that will live forever: Saturday 21st at 7.00pm

No.6 is taking a brief intermission - re-opening scheduled for May 9th

Loyal regulars will be aware that we have had a few technical issues with some of our screenings recently. We have been working to resolve these, and have been pleased that our most recent showings, including lengthy films like Dune: Part 2 and Apocalypse Now, have worked okay. But we feel it’s unfair on you to be crossing our fingers and hoping, we’d rather get things sorted properly.

We will return on Friday 10th May with the classic 1966 Batman:The Movie.

Keep an eye on the No.6 website and newsletter for more information. Thanks to everyone for your patience and understanding.
