Back to all posts We are showing Carrie on Thursday evening at No6

I’m sure many of you will be wondering what is happening at No6 vis a vis The NMRN plans for Boathouse 6. I have been reliably informed that plans for refurbishment have been shelved for at least a year and possibly longer depending on how long it takes them to raise the extra cash for the project. So it’s frustrating news for them but great news for No6. We will continue to offer the same high quality and interesting films and we look forward to  welcoming you all for the foreseeable future.

Come and see how it all began, on Thursday 20th at 4.15pm

This Thursday is matinee day, a 4.15pm screening of Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again will have you tapping your feet and weeping in equal measure. Free tea/coffee and biscuits in the bar but also if you want something stronger it will be there too for a reasonable price. The freezer is freshly stocked with Northney Farm ice creams in a variety of delicious flavours.

If only they knew she had the power, on Thursday 20th at 7pm

On Thursday evening at 7.00pm we are screening the first film in our season ' Monstrous Feminine’. The classic horror Carrie is the perfect film to start us off. Like Jaws it is a rare example of the film being better than the book. Adapted from Stephen King’s novel will is still enthral us? Dr Esther Sonnet will give us an insight into the film’s cultural significance before the film.

Join us to see the film based on the novel My Abandonment by Peter Rock, on Fri 21st at 7pm

Leave No Trace on Friday evening. Nice bit of film making: an understatement for an understated masterpiece.

Sooner or later, your past catches up with you.

The perfect film for the last days of summer, Saturday night’s film is Christopher Robin. A cornerstone of so many people’s childhood this is a family film targeted at people of all ages.
