Recent research by the Independent Cinema Office highlights the large number people in the population who are now considered to be hard of hearing. In light of this research we are considering ways in which we can help and have decided to trial the screening of HoH versions for our matinee films in our Jan/Feb programme.
This Thursday's matinee screening of The Old Man and the Gun will be an HOH screening with subtitles, we will be asking people for their feed back on whether this is an initiative to continue or to avoid in future. We will have two jars positioned near the exit and some counters, buttons or beans that we are simply asking people to drop into the 'yes' or ‘no’ receptacle to make their feelings known.
Our next HOH screening will be Mary Poppins Returns on Thursday Feb 14th at 4.15pm.
And don’t forget all our world cinema films are also subtitled, they number amongst some of the best and most interesting films that we screen.
Ticket prices for The Old Man and the Gun at 4.15pm on Thursday will be £8.00 Full, £6 Concs and £5.00 for 25’s and under, don’t forget the free tea/coffee and biscuits on offer for matinee customers.
Thursday evening’s film at 7.00pm is all bustles, bonnets and saucy intrigue. Return of the Hero starring Jean Dujardin and Melanie Laurent is a high camp, high drama, big budget French costume drama. Let’s not forget that no one does a caddish smile quite like Dujardin!
All online tickets for Free Solo on Friday night are sold out. There will be a limited number of tickets on the box office for early bird walkups (6.15pm onwards), however, the good news is that we have scheduled an extra screening of the film on Thursday 28th Febat 7.00pm. Don’t miss out a second time…book now..!
I have been assured that those of you waiting for this film with bated breath will not be disappointed. Mary Poppins Returns will probably still reduce you to floods of tears, prepare to be seduced on Saturday Night.
