We love to see a full house

Back to all posts Nothing thrills us more than having a theatre packed with film-lovers

We love to see a full house at No6, it makes our hearts swell but can you help us to spread the word and the love even further a field? If you have somewhere that you could put some programmes or even a small A4 poster, somewhere yet to be infiltrated by our merry band of distributors, please take a bunch of programmes and/or poster away with you next time you visit the cinema, just ask one of us when you leave and we’ll gladly hand some over.

The world's first fully oil painted feature film.

Loving Vincent on Thursday night is an extraordinary animation and the first of its kind. Van Gogh’s paintings come to life and illustrate the story surrounding his turbulent life and death. Can’t wait to see it on our screen, it promises to be a real treat. It's worth noting that the firework display at Gunwharf Quays on Thursday Evening could mean a bit of extra traffic, so just allow a little extra time to travel to us.

WANTED: Four men willing to drive a cargo of death to escape a life in hell.

Sorcerer on Friday night, directed by William Friedkin of Exorcist and French Connection fame, was made in 1977. It was a teeny weeny bit overshadowed by the release of Close Encounters at the time but looking at it now one may wonder why. A great thriller starring the inexhaustible Roy Scheider, definitely an oldie to be relished.

Only Cary Grant and Alfred Hitchcock ever gave you so much suspense in so many directions.

Sublime classic Hitchcock: Saturday night’s film North by Northwest has been re released as part of the BFI’s thriller season. This movie by the master of suspense himself will grace our screen and very pleased we are to have it too!

No.6 is taking a brief intermission - re-opening scheduled for May 9th

Loyal regulars will be aware that we have had a few technical issues with some of our screenings recently. We have been working to resolve these, and have been pleased that our most recent showings, including lengthy films like Dune: Part 2 and Apocalypse Now, have worked okay. But we feel it’s unfair on you to be crossing our fingers and hoping, we’d rather get things sorted properly.

The plan is to close for the next two weeks and hopefully return on Thursday 9th May. Keep an eye on the No.6 website and newsletter for confirmation or otherwise, and of course to find out what we will be showing when we do return. Thanks to everyone for your patience and understanding.
