Whopping great hug!

Back to all posts Come and see The French Dispatch at No6!

As we near the end of our first two months of screenings, we would like to thank everyone who has ventured out and down to the dockyard to support the cinema, and to give them a whopping great hug.

It has been an interesting couple of months, not without its hiccups but certainly it is fantastic to be back, meet a lot of new customers and see some of our old regulars back in the cinema where they belong.

We have an interesting and eclectic programme of films for Nov/Dec but what else would you expect from No6? From Bond to Gagarine, The Alpinist to The French Dispatch, the blockbuster crowd pleasers to the more thought provoking indie films, we hope there will be enough to catapult you from sofa to cinema seat via the bar.

A roller-coaster ride of truth, imagination and storytelling.

Never mind a pack of wolves, Thursday night’s film is a pack of lies. Misha and the Wolves is really a dark fairy tale.

Spike Lee documents David Byrne's Broadway show American Utopia.

Rescheduled from the beginning of September we are now delighted to be screening American Utopia on Friday night.

Man is the warmest place to hide.

Halloween…well not quite but near enough, our Saturday night film is a classic. The Thing is “a peerless masterpiece of relentless suspense, retina wrecking visual excess and outright nihilistic terror” so says Adam Smith of Empire Magazine. Who are we to disagree?

Coming Soon...

The Rescue on Thursday 18th November. Survival against the odds, a true story and perfect for our larger than average screen.

Courage runs deep.

No.6 is taking a brief intermission - re-opening scheduled for May 9th

Loyal regulars will be aware that we have had a few technical issues with some of our screenings recently. We have been working to resolve these, and have been pleased that our most recent showings, including lengthy films like Dune: Part 2 and Apocalypse Now, have worked okay. But we feel it’s unfair on you to be crossing our fingers and hoping, we’d rather get things sorted properly.

The plan is to close for the next two weeks and hopefully return on Thursday 9th May. Keep an eye on the No.6 website and newsletter for confirmation or otherwise, and of course to find out what we will be showing when we do return. Thanks to everyone for your patience and understanding.
